Our Prep Scientists

This term the Preps have been exploring different elements of science through observations and experiments. The Preps conducted an experiment using food colouring to colour the vinegar so they could see the fizz and reaction taking place.

The Preps then used the same ingredients bi-carb soda and vinegar but did it inside a bottle with a balloon over the lip of the bottle. The children had to predict what they thought might happen to the balloon and why. 

 

"The balloon will stay the same"

 

"The balloon will pop" 

 

"The balloon will fill up with fizzy vinegar"

 

The Preps  then used different containers and experimented with using different amounts of bi-carb soda and vinegar to see if they would get the same fizz reaction.
