Brave Writers


We recognise Literacy as a means of communication, which intertwines the processes of listening, speaking, reading, viewing and writing. 

When beginning to write, children imitate the actions associated with writing. They may scribble and swirl marks across the page in play. They may begin to write strings of letters or words that are important to them. Either way these are necessary steps for children to take as they begin to assign meaning to print. 

As you can see from these gorgeous examples below, our students are already exploring the different forms of text. The illustrations below are evidence of us being brave and having a go while drawing and labelling our own depiction of the Gruffalo from the picture story book 'The Gruffalo'.
