How Big Am I? 

Our first Maths Inquiry of 2013 is off and running as we delve into the big question"How Big Am I?" Our purpose- to engage our students in conscious mathematical thinking, and we have been so impressed with the mathematical thinking that has been continually improving throughout the whole curriculum. 

In particular our latest Maths Inquiry session which focused on the exploration of a range of informal and formal measuring tools such as unifix, hands, feet, rulers, string, measuring tapes, jugs, bowls, kettles (you name it, we tried it) exploded as the students took their inquiry to the next level. The students measured and compared themselves and other objects in our learning community, explaining their findings and recording data! We are so proud that the students are already thinking as mathematicians, we thought we would share some of their findings with you.
