Off to a flying start in term 3

Term three is off to a flying start and has proved that the break has allowed all of us to rest and return to school refreshed and excited to learn.
The term began with a story and a very busy Independent Learning Time (ILT) on Tuesday morning. We love having parent/carer volunteers in the Learning Community (LC) during ILT - it's a great time for you to do one-on-one reading with students or run a small toolbox if there is an activity or area of interest you'd like to bring to the LC.
This term, we plan to have ILT every Monday and Tuesday morning, as well as Friday afternoon.
During ILT yesterday students could choose from the following projects and provocations:

Reading independently or with a friend
Listening to a story on a Chromebook
Illustrating and cutting out a puzzle
Typing and illustrating stories in Google Keep on the Chromebooks
Curating artwork for our future gallery in the Atelier
Exploring maps and marking the destinations travelled
Playing maths games including chess, cards and addition dash
Using a simple shape to create an illustration
Playing Yatzee with Laura
Playing in our new role play area - Triciclo's Green Grocer
Constructing using the Make-Do kit with Peter
Creating with mobilo
Building a 'domino' run with wooden planks
Constructing and playing with the big blocks
Sculpting with kinetic sand
