Potato Olympics

Who would believe that you could build a personal relationship with a potato?

Well over the past term we have!!

We created a range of potato characters and prepared them for
entry into specially designed potato olympic events. Through a character profile we gave our potatoes a name, age, and wrote down their favourite event.

We measured our potatoes in various events including Bocce, High Jump and Running and produced measurements that allowed the efforts of our potato athletes to be compared.

We recorded our results in an organised table to show the event, measurement and tool that we used to measure. This made it a lot easier to tally our results as a group at the end and we were able to figure out which potato athlete came 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each event. In true Olympic games spirit we finished each event with a closing ceremony awarding our winners with medals on podiums.

Unfortunately, as the weeks of the Potato Olympics rolled along many of our potatoes fell ill - turning green, a little mouldy and smelly and they had to be sent off to the hospital. No matter what happens to our Potatoes next, the Olympics and our athletes will forever live on in our memories.
